NCP mulls fielding candidates in GHADC polls

SHILLONG, Nov 28: NCP’s lone MLA, Saleng Sangma, on Saturday hinted at fielding of few candidates in the GHADC polls whenever it is held.
Saleng said since he is the only legislator of the party in the North East, the party now plans to field one or two candidates in the GHADC elections. “We may field one or two candidates because by looking at the situation, nobody wants to stand for MDC elections as the council has not been able to pay the salary of the employees for last three years,” Saleng said.
When asked about party’s revival, Saleng said he cannot predict the fate of the party in the state despite the consistent help from the Delhi headquarter. “I am trying hard to build NCP and I recently even attended one of the campaignings in Assam,” Saleng said.
