NONGSTOIN, Dec 3: A 19-year-old woman from Sylleiiawkhein village in West Khasi Hills died by suicide on Wednesday.
Sources said that during inquiry, it was learnt that the incident occurred at 10 pm and the relative had found the body of Albarin Marwein hanging with a black shawl at her premises.
It was after this she was rushed to St Joseph Hospital,Nongstoin, where she was declared dead.
During the inquest, ligature marks were also found on the body.
It was learnt that Albarin was married to Pynshailang Lyngdoh Nonglait (24), hailing from the same village, and were on good terms.
The body has been now sent to Civil Hospital Nongstoin for post-mortem while the investigation into the matter is under way.
