Natl Lok Adalat settles 171 cases

SHILLONG, Dec 5: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority on Saturday organised National Lok Adalat across the state and settled 171 cases.
According to a statement, the Adalat was held state under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the Patronage of High Court Chief Justice Biswanath Somadder.
“658 Pre-Litigation cases and 551 pending cases were taken up in the National Lok Adalat in (Contd on P-4)

(Contd from P-3)the whole State of Meghalaya for settlement. The cases taken were MACT, Bank Recovery, Civil Cases and Criminal Compoundable cases,” the statement said.
It added that a whopping Rs 1,00,10,452 crore was settled.
