SHILLONG, Dec 6: In keeping with the annual outreach programme, the Board of Directors of YMCA Shillong accompanied by their families donated food items, sports materials and clothes during a visit to the ‘Ki Mawlynnai ka Jingim Children’s Home’ at Puriang, East Khasi Hills, recently. Started by Nisailent Kharlukhi and her family in 2016, the orphanage houses as many as 26 children (boys and girls) in the age group of 6-16 years.
President of the YMCA, P Lyngdoh, thanked the caretakers for their dedicated and selfless service towards mankind.
The children presented a melodious song called ‘Ngi Bunkam’ (translated as ‘We are busy’).
The YMCA Shillong will organise the ‘Online Christmas Carol Service’ on December 13, which will be telecast in local cable channel and YouTube.
