TURA, Dec 8: One of the kidnappers behind the abduction of a fishmonger, who was absconding for the past two days, has been nabbed from Rongsai area in the Chibinang-Tikrikilla region of West Garo Hills.
Nineteen-year-old Chijang A Sangma was nabbed on Tuesday and from his possession a Bajaj motorcycle, two mobile phones and a dagger were recovered.
With his arrest, almost the entire gang behind the kidnapping has been put behind bars.
While the first kidnapper was netted on Sunday itself, three others fell into the police dragnet on Monday.
The gang members, mostly from nearby villages of Tikrikilla had kidnapped a fishmonger while he was en route to deliver his consignment for a wedding party.
The gang had demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lakh for his safe release but swift action from police led to the rescue of the victim from a house in Bandangre village.
