NABARD sanctions Rs 44.38 cr to state

SHILLONG, Dec 14: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 44.38 crore to the Meghalaya Government for construction of 10 rural roads, one bridge and 8 rural drinking water supply projects under RIDF-Tranche-XXVI.
A statement from NABARD on Monday said that the projects, which are covered under this sanction, are proposed to be completed within three years’ time. “On completion, the road and bridge projects will benefit 62 villages and will facilitate easy access to nearby health centres, marketing centres and educational institutions by the people. The rural drinking water supply projects have the potential to provide assured potable water to more than 1,100 households in 18 villages. These projects will strengthen the rural infrastructure base of the state,” NABARD said.
