Community hall at Laitkor inaugurated

SHILLONG, Dec 18: Nongkrem MLA, Lambor Malngiang, on Friday inaugurated the community hall of Laitkor Dorbar Pyllun while also announcing an additional sanction of Rs 45 lakh for its extension.
The project which commenced in 2016 was initiated by HS Shylla during his tenure as the MDC of Nongkrem.
The project which commenced in the year 2016 was initiated by HS Shylla, former Minister and ex-CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), during his tenure as MDC of Nongkrem Constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Malngiang expressed elation at the completion of the project.
He further informed that another 45 lakh has been sanctioned for the extension of the Community Hall, which will include the construction of a counselling centre and a commercial complex, in a bid to help generate income for the welfare of the area and its people.
The MLA also apprised the gathering of several schemes such as construction of schools, water supply schemes, installation of streetlights, etc., for the welfare of the youth, women and the community at large.
The programme was attended by Rangbah Shnong, Secretary Shnong, Rangbah Dong, Seng Samla Shnong, Seng Kynthie of Laitkor Pyllun and representatives of Laitkor Sports Club.
