Meghalaya Cricket Association announces squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy

SHILLONG, Dec 27: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) on Sunday announced their squad of 15 players and three stand by players for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy.
The team is being led by wicketkeeper batsman Punit S Bisht, who is a BCCI approved Guest Player. Apart from Bisht, there are two other BCCI approved Guest Players in the squad — Sanjay Yadav and Ravi Teja.
Teja has been named Bisht’s deputy for the domestic T20 tournament.
Yadav is the only player to have represented Meghalaya and also be a part of an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last IPL auctions.
The Meghalaya cricket team has had a good run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. It was at this tournament last season that Meghalaya had defeated the likes of Assam and the mighty Mumbai cricket teams.
The Mushtaq Ali trophy, which kick starts the current domestic season, is scheduled to start on January 10, 2021.
Meghalaya Squad: Punit S Bisht (Guest Player), Chengkham Sangma, Aditya Singhania, Abhay Negi, Larry G Sangma, Akash Kumar Chaudhary, Dippu Sangma, Yogesh Tiwari, Rohit Shah, Anish Charak, Wanlambok Nongkhlaw, Kilco Sangma, Shellingstar Thabah, Sanjay Yadav (Guest Player), Ravi Teja (Guest Player).
Stand by: Shiva Sangma, Wellmanson Passah, Shaisngi Lyngdoh.
Support Staff: Goutam Shome (Coach), Aaron G. Diengdoh (Manager), Surojit Biswas (Physio), Himmat Singh (Trainer).
