NONGSTOIN, Dec 30: Following a fire incident in Sohparu, West Khasi Hills, which destroyed the house of one Baiamon Paliar, the Federation of Khasi Jaintia & Garo Peoples’ (FKJGP) Diengshyiang Area Unit along with villagers donated a house to the victim on Wednesday. The incident had taken place on Christmas day.
The FKJGP West Khasi Hills District Unit also distributed CGI sheets and blankets to the victim.
The organisation president, Palwanbor Syiem, told pressmen here that the FKJGP along with other members decided to make a subscription to provide help and other assistance to the victim. He informed that members who were unable to make monetary contributions dedicated one day of service to help in building a new house.
