NONGSTOIN, Jan 5: A seventeen-year-old teenage girl was found hanging near Catholic Church Lumpyngngad.
Police informed that the teenager has been identified as Ibapynkmen Syiem of Lumpyngngad village in West Khasi Hills.
The girl’s father, Phimos Lyngkhoi, in a complaint filed with Nongstoin Police Station, said that his daughter left home on January 4 to not return until being found by the relatives.
According to police, the 17-year-old was scolded by her parents for returning home late on January 3 before she left.
The body was handed over to the family after observing legal formalities.
