NONGSTOIN, Jan 5: The BDO of Mawshynrut C&RD Block, S Syiemlieh, inaugurated the 65-metre motorable bridge at Nongshyiap village under Aradonga Circle in West Khasi Hills.
The bridge was constructed by villagers from Nongshyiap and Warigro under the MGNREGA/S scheme for Rs 50 lakh.
The structure was built after villagers from both Nongshyiap and Warigro faced serious problems to cross through the river in the absence of a bridge connecting two sides. Even school students were affected during summer.
