SHILLONG, Jan 23: A 30-day training in advanced tailoring was on Friday inaugurated by the Rilum Foundation for Sustainable Development at Belfonte Community College, Lumshyiap, Shillong.
Sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the training has come up in response to the existing demands in rural markets in a project funded by Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI) of the TATA Trusts.
“Trainees will complete all 30 days of training at Belfonte Community College (BCC). BCC has kindly opened its training and residential facilities to the programme,” a statement said on Saturday.
During the training period, the trainees will learn about master-cutting techniques and rural credit linkage for small entrepreneurs.
“The first aim is for trainees to achieve precise execution of mass school uniform orders. The second aim is to open their access to government departments and existing subsidies in financing,” the statement said.
