Don Bosco museum gets space corner

SHLLONG, Jan 24: ISRO chairman and secretary of the Department of Space, Dr K Sivan, inaugurated the space corner at the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC) also called Don Bosco Museum here on Saturday.
ISRO chief Dr Sivan unveiled the inscribed momento slab to inaugurate the space corner.
The plan of establishing the space corner was idealised in 2010 during one of the visits of the official of the NESAC and the Director of Don Bosco Museum. Two years ago, the project was realised thanks to the staff and officials of ISRO and NESAC.
Others who were present include Prof SK Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University and Father Paul Olphindro, Provincial of Salesian Province Shillong, M Maheshwar Rao, Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Department of Space, G Jayanti Jt. Secretary (Finance), Department of Space, Dr Raj Kumar, Director, NRSC, Hyderabad, Shasikant Sharma, Group Director, SAC, Ahmedabad, Vivek Singh, Assistant Scientific Secretary, ISRO, and Sylvester Kurbah, village Headman and school students among others.
