Srikanth resumes training
Bangkok, Jan 24: Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, who was forced to withdraw from the just-concluded Thailand Open as per protocols, resumed training on Sunday after the Badminton Association of India (BAI) got his 14-day mandatory reduced to a week. (PTI)

MELBOURNE, Jan 24: The Women’s Tennis Association has announced a new tournament in Melbourne for players undergoing a 14-day quarantine without an opportunity to practice ahead of the Australian Open beginning February 8. The new tournament will be staged from February 3-7 and will cater for players who have not been able to train. (AP)

McGregor loses to Poirier
ABU DHABI, Jan 24: Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor was on Sunday left stunned on his return to the UFC as Dustin Poirier claimed victory in their rematch at UFC 257 at the Etihad Arena. McGregor, who came out of retirement for a third time to face Poirier, was beaten in the second round via technical knockout. The finish came at 2 minutes 32 seconds into round two. (IANS)
