State-level panel for 50th M’laya Day

SHILLONG, Jan 27: Meghalaya government has constituted the state-level committee for celebrating 50th anniversary of Meghalaya’s statehood, which will function as the apex panel for management of the yearlong celebration.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is the chairman of the Committee while Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong is the vice chairman. The Committee also comprises several MLAs as well as CEMs of the three autonomous district councils as members, besides few Padma Shri awardees including Manas Chaudhuri.
It will be responsible for all policy decisions on the golden jubilee programme and will also oversee the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
