Police recover body from stream in SWGH

TURA, Jan 30: Police in South West Garo Hills on Saturday fished out a body of an unidentified man from the Junjona stream in Ampati town.
Subsequent to the spotting of the body by villagers from Khambakpara in the morning, the headman apprised the police of the matter.
“The Nokma of Khambakpara, Rakseng A Sangma, informed that one highly decomposed unidentified male body was floating on Junjona stream. Our police team, accompanied with the magistrate and the Medical & Health Officer of Ampati, visited the site. It was after this place inquest was conducted by a magistrate and a spot autopsy was done,” informed district SP, R Ravi.
With no internal or external injuries on the body, police suspect it to be a case of drowning.
