Mawkyrwat, Feb 1: Laitlawsnai Sports Club organised the Sports Festival 2021 on January 29, which was held at Madan Mawthung and Madan Perbah in Laitlawsnai village, South West Khasi Hills District.
Secretary of Laitlawsnai Sports Club, Stevenson Pariong informed that during the festival many events were organised. The main events were football, race, archery, cock fight, tug of war and traditional Mawpoin game where many youth – boys and girls, as well as children from Laitlawsnai village participated.
He also informed that the main objective of the Club in organising the programme is to encourage the talented youths from the village to participate in sports and games.
The program was inaugurated on January 29 at Madan Mawthung by the Myntri (headman) of Laitlawsnai, Dominic Shangpliang in the presence of other leaders from the village.
It was concluded on January 30 by Kynpham V. Kharlyngdoh, a Supreme Court Lawyer who was the Chief Guest of the programme.
