SHILLONG, Feb 6: A day after the Khasi Students’ Union asked Governor Satya Pal Malik not to mislead the Centre with statements like “ILP will be harmful for Meghalaya”, the Raj Bhavan today clarified that the Governor had never conveyed this to Government of India nor attempted to influence them in any way.
A statement from Raj Bhavan said that the Governor has put this across as his personal views to the leadership and people of the state of Meghalaya to assess and if they still feel it is necessary he would help in taking up the matter (ILP) with the Centre.
The statement reiterated that ILP was a matter concerning the state and the central government.
