Sanbor lays base for work on PWD road

SHILLONG, Feb 7: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai, on Saturday, laid the foundation stone for the construction work including widening, metalling and black-topping of the PWD road from the main entrance of Sankardev College up to its exit gate at Bishnupur.
Initiated and recommended by Sanbor Shullai, the work has been sanctioned under the PWD general scheme at the cost of over Rs 1.43 crore.
The scheme will ease the flow of traffic of school and college going students besides the public of the entire Bishnupur, Kench’s Trace and Lawsohtun areas.
Addressing the occasion, South Shillong MLA Shullai assured that the project would be implemented without delays. While lauding the efforts of PWD officials, he expressed his gratitude to the members of Srimantha Sankar Dev Cultural Centre, Bishnupur, for contributing their land.
