Baghmara locals sensitised on road safety

TURA, Feb 11: The South Garo Hills district administration in collaboration with the District Transport Office organised an awareness programme on road safety as part of the observation of Road Safety Week.
Thematised on ‘Sadak Suraksha-Jeevan Raksha (Road Safety-Safety to Life)’, the programme was attended by various district officials, who enlightened the local population about various preventive measures for road safety.
South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, MT Sangma, during the programme, exhorted the public to adhere to certain safety rules to keep themselves and others out of harm’s way.
Apprising the locals of safety measures, the DC also beseeched the attendees to conform to traffic rules and signals.
Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Tenny Sangma, dwelt at length about MV Act while urging the people to get their vehicles insured.
Others who spoke during the programme include EACs Reuben Momin and Tengchi Momin.
