Shillong, Feb 13: The new season of the 1st Division Shillong Cricket League kicked off with Nongkseh CC taking on MLP. MLP won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 182/9 in 30 overs. Wallamjohn Lyngdoh scored 66 runs off 60 balls, while Probesn Bay made run 20 runs off 19 balls for MLP. For Nongkseh Bushbashisha Tohtih picked up 3 wickets giving away 28 runs in 6 overs, and was ably supported by Pankaj Chanda (3/34). In reply Nongkseh scored 186/8 in 28 overs. Banphira Basaiawmoit (61 runs off 36 balls) and Wansuklang Shullai (46 runs off 33 balls) were the top scorers for Nongkseh. Gautam Chettri (3/28) and Pankaj Roy (2/45) were the pick of the bowlers for MLP. Nongkseh won the contest by 2 wickets. Wansuklang was awarded the Man of the Match trophy.
