Galore of successful chase in tennis ball tourney at Rilbong

SHILLONG, Feb 21: Several matches were played on Sunday during the ongoing day and night tennis ball cricket tournament at Rilbong which saw the likes of Dishoom SC, Titans, Young guns, Aparajita SC, Mawbah Strikers and Royal CC taking home victories, with most of them managing to successfully chase their target scores.
In the first match of the day, Dishoom SC, after winning the toss, put opponents Vintage United SC Club to bat. The latter scored 33 runs in 6 overs. Dishoom relinquished a well-deserved victory in merely 5 overs with 3 wickets still in the bag.
Second match saw Titans take on SSCM-VIII. Put in to bat first by Titans, SSCM scored 45 runs in 6 overs. The Titans then took the rival team by storm and bagged a 3-wicket victory in just 5 overs.
Young Guns and IQRA locked horns in the third match of the day. In this match, an unsuccessful chase led to IQRA being trounced by Young Guns, who beat them by 14 runs.
Young Guns posted a total of 48 runs in 6 overs in the first innings and managed to restrict IQRA to 34 in 5.2 overs.
In the fourth match, Aparajita SC thrashed RS & CC (A) by 6 wickets. RS&CC had posted a target of 18 runs, which the chasers trumped in only 12 balls. Aparajita scored 22 runs in those 2 overs.
In the next match, Mawbah Strikers were given a walkover victory as the Keating Road SC failed to turn up for the clash.
Lastly, Royal CC successfully chased the target of 24 runs in 4.4 overs to beat Heritage.
