SHILLONG, Feb 27: In what can be called a bizarre incident, a man from Shillong who had kept whopping Rs 56,50,000 at his residence was purloined.
Subsequent to the bolt from the blue, the man, identified as Basid Ali, had registered a police report.
According to police, Ali had lodged a complaint that on February 22 between 9 am and 5 pm, unknown miscreant(s) broke into his residence at Mawbah, Shillong, and stole the amount.
Albeit Ali has lodged a complaint in this regard, the odds of him retrieving the money hang in the balance.
