It is quite possible that you might have joined your current job with full enthusiasm but after a few months, the very same job turned out to be a nightmare that is only dragging you down. Many people are often met with the urge of wanting to take a different direction in their career and it is only natural to do so. There could be an array of reasons for wanting to make that change, and one should be brave enough to make that decision when the time comes.

Here are a few signs which indicate that you are stuck in the wrong career and that it’s time for you to start considering more options.

You Are Not Giving Your Best

If you go to your workplace everyday just for the sake of doing what you are supposed to do, then it is a primary sign that you are not enjoying your work. Also, if you have become the kind of person who is always waiting for the weekend and curse Mondays with extra venom, then you are still in the same list of people who are least interested in what they do for a living.

You Are Constantly Complaining About Your Job

If, recently, you have started complaining about the kind of work done in your office, and have constant issues with your colleagues and manager then this could be the sign that you are not at the place where you should be.

You Feel Underpaid and Overworked

If you feel like you are taking more and more responsibilities for the organization and still not being appreciated and have not received a well-deserved raise, it could be a reason you should think about quitting your job.

You Feel like You Are Not Growing in Your Career

If you don’t feel challenged by the responsibilities you are given and feel like you are stuck doing mundane work, then this could be the sign that it’s time you consider other options as well.

You Are Staying Just for The Sake of Security

Many of us have financial responsibilities to take care of and if that is the only thing which is making you stay, then it is definitely time for you to look for more career options. If you continue working in such a situation, you will eventually get drained in some time as money is not the best metric to base your happiness on.

You Feel a Pull towards Something Else

You might be working in as a developer in an IT firm but your heart may aspire to be an event organizer. If that is the call you hear, then you should take the step but remember to save a certain amount of bank balance in your savings account, so that you could survive in the new profession at least for a few months.

You Don’t Feel That Great Sense of Purpose at Your Job

Many people face this feeling, however, not at the beginning of their career when they are very excited, but when they gain some experience. Job satisfaction holds more value than you know, so if you feel that you are heading nowhere in your present job, then take the plunge and make a change.
