Book release
The Martin Luther Christian University will celebrate International Women’s Day by releasing a book titled ‘Gender, Sexuality and Society in Northeast India: Contextual Studies of Tribal Communities’ at Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, Pinemount Ridge, Shillong, on Monday. According to a statement, the book, which has been edited by Dr R Jennifer War and Dr Glenn C Kharkongor, will be released by Chief Secretary MS Rao, who will attend the programme as the chief guest. The guest of honour for the programme will be East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo.

Exhibition
Bosco Integrated Development Society (BIDS), in collaboration with the office of Mawpat BDO, will celebrate International Women’s Day on Monday by organising an exhibition-cum-sale of women’s self-help group products. The programme is sponsored by NABARD and will be held at U Soso Tham auditorium from 10 am onwards.

Curfew extended
Night curfew in East Khasi Hills has been extended in East Khasi Hills from March 8 till 14 between 11 pm and 5 am each day, an order said.
