SHILLONG, March 7: All Meghalaya Government LP School Contractual Teachers’ Association has decided to call off their indefinite hunger strike.
The Association has taken the decision after the state government, through the Additional Chief Secretary, RV Suchiang, has called them for talks.
The teachers are likely to meet Principal Secretary, DP Wahlang, to confer about their demands on Monday. The Association will, however, continue to agitate by holding a sit-in. It may be mentioned that the teachers have been protesting at Malki Ground since March 1.
