4 injured in Dhaka launching girder collapse

Dhaka, March 14 : Four people, including two Chinese nationals, were injured after a part of launching girder of the Bus Rapid Transit project collapsed near the Dhaka airport on Sunday.
The identities of the injured persons have not been ascertained yet.
Shortly after the accident, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the trapped people and sent them to hospitals, Shafikul Islam, an official of Kurmitola Fire Service Station, told IANS.
Chief engineer of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) project Abdur Rahman said that among the injured, three were admitted to Evercare Hospital and others to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (Nitor).
Islam added the launching girder collapsed at around 10.35 a.m. at Airport Railway Station area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway near the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. (IANS)
