SHILLONG, March 15: United XI struck big on Monday, winning their Shillong Cricket League Super Division match against Khalsa Warriors by 94 runs in a high-scoring match. Winning the toss, Khalsa Warriors’ choice to field first may have backfired as their bowlers bore the brunt of United’s onslaught as they scored a mammoth 313/5 in 35 overs. Man of the Match Champan Push hammered 75 runs off only 43 balls while Kishan Lyngdoh made 75 runs off 63 deliveries. Suraj Singh bowled returned with respectable figures of 2/40 in his allotted 7 overs while Sandeep Singh picked up a wicket. Left with an uphill task of chasing 314 for a win, Khalsa Warriors could only manage 219/9 in 35 overs, resulting in a 94-run loss. Suraj Singh top-scored with 42 off 25 balls while Karan Jaiswal added 39 runs for the Warriors. Lokesh Turaha was the pick of United’s bowlers with 4/41.
