SHILLONG, March 21: Meghalaya were unable to conclude their Women’s Senior One Day Trophy Elite Group E campaign with a victory, going down to Himachal Pradesh by 10 wickets in Chennai today.
Meghalaya won the toss and chose to bat first but nothing else really went their way, as they were bundled out for 28.
Himachal then chased this down with consummate ease in just four overs.
The Meghalaya women’s team thus finished with five defeats in their maiden season in an elite group where they fought it out with some of the best state teams in the country.
Although losing all five games will not have been easy to bear, the girls can be proud of becoming the first state team – male or female and of any age category – to have qualified for an elite group.
