SHILLONG, March 31: The final of the Intra Academy Tournament 2021 was played between Southern Warriors and Eastern Warriors at Lumpyngngad ground here on Wednesday.
Southern Warriors, electing to bat first after winning the toss, scored 151 for 1 in 15 overs.
Manthan Dey top scored with 62 runs off 48 balls, while Rajbeer Singh and Josiah Wanniang made handy contributions.
In reply, Eastern Warriors scored 110 runs in 15 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Archie was the top scorer with 32 runs in 29 balls, followed by Trinayan (17 runs off 10 balls).
Southern Warriors won the contest by a massive margine of 41 runs.
Manthan, for his superb batting, was adjudged the Man of the Match of the final.
Best bowler award was given to Rohit Sharma of Eastern Warriors for his excellent spell of 5/1 in one over.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Saikia of Northern Warriors bagged the Best Fielder award.
