In compliance with the government notification in connection with the services under the Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act, 2020, the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills has directed that an no-objection certificate is required for setting up of explosives manufacturing, storage, sale, transport, and petroleum, diesel and Naptha manufacturing, storage, sale, transport. License for sale of crackers are to be applied online from megedistrict.gov.in with immediate effect, the DC’s directive said.

Instruction
The Meghalaya Police has informed candidates appearing for the Physical Efficiency Test for recruitment in Armed Branch and Unarmed Branch, at 1st MLP Battalion, Mawiong and 2nd MLP Battalion, Goeragre, that instructions for the test is available in the recruitment section of the Meghalaya Police website — megpolice.gov.in/recruitment.

Rice released
Rice for March under Sohra Civil Sub Division has been released at the scale of 35 kg per card at Rs 3 a kg for AAY card holders, 5 kg per head at Rs 3 per kg for PHH card holders and 7.215 kg per card at the cost fixed by the vigilance committee, not more than Rs 15 per kg for Non-NFSA card holders.

Holiday
All state government offices, Revenue and Magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed as local holiday on April 12 on account of Shad Suk Mynsiem, a statement issued here informed.
On the other hand, the Meghalaya government has declared the April 12 as general holiday in the whole of Garo Hills on account of General Elections 2021 to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council. Moreover, employees working in other districts of the state who are electors under the constituencies of the GHADC will be granted special leave. “Industrial undertaking or any of the establishment governed by NI Act 1881, besides those who work on shift basis or as daily wagers and casual workers are also entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday,” a statement issued here said.

Natl Lok Adalat
The Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority of West Garo Hills, has informed that the National Lok Adalat will be held on April 17 from 10 am at the District and Session Judge’s court building.
