Health Day
The NCC Unit of Buddha Bhanu Saraswati (BBS) College on Wednesday observed the World Health Day by organising a programme which was attended by the students and staff of the college. According to a statement, the programme was organised with an objective to disseminate awareness on the importance of taking care of one’s health, especially at a time when the country is reeling under the fresh wave of COVID-19. The gathering was also suggested to avail benefits of government health schemes and steer clear of unhealthy habits.
Programme
The North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy will organise a one-day programme to celebrate World Homeopathy Day at its campus on Saturday.
Cancellation
The visit of Governor Satya Pal Malik to Rhino Heritage Museum, Shillong, which was scheduled for April 9, has been cancelled.
Curfew extended
The West Garo Hills District Administration has extended the night curfew in the district till April 16. According to a statement, the restrictions and relaxations will remain the same.
‘Janta Darbar’
The Sub Divisional Officer of Dadenggre, Jagdish Chelani, has informed that ‘Janta Darbar’ on Thursday got under way at the sub division. He said the locals can air their grievances and submit petitions during the darbar. “The ‘Janta Darbar’, which has already started from April 8, will sit every Thursday at PWD IB, Phulbari, from 11 am to 1 pm,” a notification from the SDO said.
Distribution
The Meghandini Mahila Samiti, Shillong, organised a free distribution of study materials for the needy and underprivileged students of Synjuk Wahingdoh Secondary School at Wahingdoh Community Hall on Wednesday as part of the annual activities of the Samiti. The programme was attended by KHNAM MLA Adelbert Nongrum as the chief guest, the Rangbah Shnong Wahingdoh, children and parents.
