UDP likely to stick with NPP

SHILLONG, April 13: The United Democratic Party (UDP) is most likely to stick with NPP in the GHADC, for which results of the MDC polls would be announced in two days’ time.
Senior UDP leader Bindo M Lanong, on Tuesday, said that the UDP will stay with the NPP and is likely to form the executive committee in the Council.
According to Lanong, the party will surely open its account in the GHADC polls. “We are hoping of doing very well in at least four constituencies,” Lanong said.
It may be mentioned that UDP and NPP are already partners in the MDA coalition government which has been ruling Meghalaya for over three years now.
The UDP, this time, led an aggressive campaign in Garo Hills for the GHADC polls with even its top brass in action.
Apart from UDP and NPP, Congress, BJP and other independent candidates are also in the fray for the polls.
