MSLSA takes up over 1K cases in Lok Adalat

SHILLONG, April 17: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) organised the National Lok Adalat on April 17 in all the districts of the state except North Garo Hills during which pre-litigation cases and 572 pending cases were taken up, a statement issued here informed.
A total of 1,508 cases were taken up, while 287 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 1,23,52,847 was settled, it added.
The National Lok Adalat were held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority and under the patronage of Justice Biswanath Somadder, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya, and under the supervision of Justice RV More, HC Judge.
