Schools in Shillong closed down for COVID surge in city

SHILLONG, April 19:  Meghalaya government has directed schools (Class KG to XII) in and around Shillong city to remain closed with immediate effect till May 3 next in view of surge on COVID positive cases in Shillong city.

The schools have been asked to continue online classes to cover the syllabus.

The ongoing MBOSE examination will, however, continue as per the schedule

Schools in the following areas would be affected by the order : Shillong Urban Agglomeration area including Census Town of Mawlai, Pynthorumukhrah, Nongmynsong, Mawpat, Umpling, Nongthymmai, Madanryling, Nongkesh, Umlyngka and Lawsohtun
