Man gets 20-yr imprisonment for raping minor

 NONGSTOIN, April 28: The District and Sessions Court, Nongstoin, on Tuesday convicted one Armishal L Marshillong for raping a minor in 2009. The Court awarded the perpetrator 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 50,000. It may be mentioned that the he had raped a minor on September 4, 2009, inside his house at Riangdo village in West Khasi Hills. It was after this a complaint was registered against him with Nongstoin Police Station and the accused was subsequently arrested with the police investigation immediately getting under way.
