Coke-laden truck overturns

SHILLONG, May 2: A coke-laden truck on Monday morning overturned at Lad Lummawbah and a case was subsequently registered against the trucker.
When contacted, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police informed that that the truck (AS26C5873) was loaded with coke and was proceeding from Shallang, West Khasi Hills, to Guwahati.
According to the SP, the trucker, identified as Amidul Islam of Bishinpara, Khanapara, surrendered at traffic branch of the Lumdiengjri police outpost. He added that a suo moto FIR has been registered against the driver.
