TURA, May 4: The Non-Gazetted Employees’ Association (NGEA) of the GHADC on Tuesday decided to continue to with their protest against the non-payment of salaries, after their meeting with the new Executive Committee (EC) failed to yield any positive outcome.
In a statement, joint secretary of the NGEA, Flaming B Marak, said that the agitating employees were not convinced during their meeting with the new EC.
According to Marak, a memorandum demanding the one-time release of a year’s salary as well as the removal of GHADC Secretary, Rikse R Marak, was submitted to the EC during their meeting. However, he said that the demand was turned down.
“We have suffered enough. They are taking our demands very lightly and we will continue with our protest come what may,” Marak said.
He also accused the new EC of forcing them to rejoin their duties with warning action against them.
