More positive cases detected in Tura market, shop opening to be restricted

TURA, May 11: Another 14 Covid positive cases have been detected from Tura bazaar during the second day of random testing conducted by surveillance teams of the district on Tuesday and West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh has informed that restrictions will have to be placed on the number of shops being allowed to open each day.

“We will be restricting the number of shops open each day. Our incident commanders have been conducting active surveillance in market areas for adherence to the protocols,” said Ram Singh as he advised everyone coming to the market area to ensure wearing of double mask and hand sanitizing.

The total number of active cases in the district is almost touching the 300 mark. It currently stands at 295.

Tuesday recorded 56 new positive cases with 13 of them being returnees from outside.

The break-up of the cases are:

Tura Civil Hospital 30 cases

Maternity and Child Hospital 1 case

Tura Christian Hospital 2 cases

Holy Cross Hospital 1 case

TB Hospital Tura 1 case

Tura Super Market 14 cases

Chandmari  area 1 case

Darengre PHC 2 cases

Phulbari CHC 3 cases

Bhaitbari PHC 1 case.
