Byrnihat PS declared micro containment zone

NONGPOH/Jowai, May 15: Byrnihat Police Outpost in Ri Bhoi has been declared as a micro-containment zone by the District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi, who, in a separate order on Saturday, also declared houses of Kamailang Nongmalieh, Trial Scene Makdoh and Hehdor Makdoh in the district as micro-containment zones.
Moreover, Sohkyrbam Domphlang village was also declared as containment zone.
The orders, which will be effective from May 15 till May 25, was issued following reports from the District Medical and Health Officer of Ri Bhoi that positive cases were detected in the areas and high-risk contacts identified.
According to the order, movement to and fro the micro-containment/containment areas has been prohibited, while people were instructed to strictly maintain social distancing of at least six feet and ensure hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and wearing of masks/face-cover.
Automobile spare parts shop to open in WJH
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills has allowed automobiles spare parts shop to be opened on Tuesday and Thursday between 9 am and 4 pm.
In an order issued here on Saturday, the district magistrate stated that the operation of the aforementioned shops will be subject to strict adherence to social distancing norms as well as hand hygiene.
