House in WJH gutted

JOWAI, May 16: A house belonging to one Tikna Hadem at Mushrot village under Laskein Block in West Jaintia Hills was gutted in a fire that took place on Saturday afternoon.
Sources informed the damaged incurred by the houseowner comes to around six lakhs rupees, including paddy stored in the house.
“There were no fire tenders to help control the fire as there was no nearest fire service station in the entire of Laskein Block,” the sources informed.
