WGH DC imposes ‘corona curfew’

TURA, May 16: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh on Sunday announced imposition of ‘corona curfew’ in the district from 2 pm till 5 am every day. However, the weekend lockdown will continue to be promulgated on Saturdays and Sundays.
While all other guidelines issued earlier continue to be in place, holding of weddings and funerals has been restricted to only 15 persons with prior permission from the concerned authority.
As per the new order by the Deputy Commissioner, shops selling essential commodities will be allowed to open from 8 am to 1 pm every day while shops dealing in hardware, electrical, plumbing and sanitary ware, computer service centres, mobile repair shops and automobile repair shops will be from 8 am to 1 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Other non-essential shops have also been allowed to open from 8 am to 1 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hotels and eateries have been directed to function and allow only takeaways.
The DC has also directed all shops selling essential supplies in Tura Bazar area to function on odd-even basis from 8 am to 1 pm while hawkers have been barred from carrying out businesses.
All markets bordering Assam from Singgimari to Tikrikilla have been allowed to open from 8 am to 12 pm while non-essential shops have been directed to open with same timing but only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
