AMPATI, June 2: A 91-year-old woman from Kumligaon village in South West Garo Hills has become another nonagenarian from Meghalaya to beat COVID-19.
The woman, Anati Koch, who was already bedridden due to hip dislocation, had tested positive for COVID-19 two weeks ago after an ASHA worker, who was nursing her, contracted the virus.
During the 10-day isolation period, Koch could not eat properly due to loss of smell and appetite. However, on the 11th day, she was tested again and the results, this time, came out to be negative. Eighteen other locals from Kumligaon village, who had tested positive, have also recovered fully.
