Over 99 pc cops received first dose of COVID vax

SHILLONG/JOWAI, June 18: In what can be called an achievement for the state police, the department has achieved 99.14 per cent vaccination rate of the first dose of vaccination amongst its officials.
GK Iangrai, Assistant Inspector General of Police (A), informed that Meghalaya Police with the assistance of Directorate of Health Services has been opening temporary vaccination sites in various police units to provide spot registration and vaccination to its officials who have been categorised as frontline workers.
Similar arrangements have also been made for the eligible family members of the officials who have been categorised as ‘Priority Targets’ for vaccination.

Meanwhile, in West Jaintia Hills, the District Magistrate, LSN Dykes, on Friday declared Ringkyrtein locality under Moodop village, as micro containment zone after positive cases/high risk contacts were detecte.
In a separate order, the West Jaintia Hills DM lifted the containment order of Moobakhon village with immediate effect.
