Man found dead inside archery counter

NONGPOH/SHILLONG, July 2: The body of a man, supposedly aged 35-45 years, was found lying inside an archery counter located at 14th Mile Byrnihat near Highway Carrier’s Refilling Centre (petrol pump), said Nazarius Lamare, Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police.
The unidentified man is 5.9 ft tall, has swarthy complexion, black eyes, black hair, round face and was wearing red T-shirt and navy blue jeans when found, the SP said.
Necessary formalities were carried out and the body has been shifted to morgue room of Nongpoh Cilvil Hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death, and for identification.
Unclaimed bodies
A male patient GK Thapa (45), of Lawmali near Ganesh Das Hospital, Shillong, was admitted in the Male Medical Ward Bed No. 3 of the Shillong Civil Hospital on June 23 but however expired on July 1 morning, the Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, said in a statement.
Another male patient Sunil Murmur (50), resident of Assam (referred from MIMHANS and brought by 108 ambulance services) was admitted in the Male Ortho Observation Ward at the hospital on July 1. The patient expired in the wee hours of July 2.
All concerned including relatives have been requested to collect the bodies from the hospital morgue at the earliest, failing which they will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
