SHILLONG, July 5: Shillong-based author Salil Gewali’s Great Minds on India, a world-acclaimed research-based book, has been approved for translation into Kannada language by Government of Karnataka.
A statement in this regard informed that select literary organisations had earlier approached Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for the translation of the book. “Translation of the book has already started by the concerned department which will later be published and circulated by the various government libraries and academic institutes across the state of Karnataka. The book will be made available both in the regular printed form and the digital format,” the statement said. The book has been translated in eleven languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Nepali, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Tamil.
It may be mentioned that this research-based title was recently recommended by the Ministry of External Affairs, for distribution among top foreign diplomats.
