Meghalaya shines in nat’l Taekwondo Championships

SHILLONG, July 5: The Meghalaya Taekwondo Self Defence Martial Art Training Centre displayed a stellar performance in the 2021 Pride Cup Online Open National Taekwondo Poomsae and Speed Kicking Championships from June 25 to 27, winning 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze for the state.
In the Poomsae Colour Belt Cadet female (D), Felicia Pamei Iongren walked away with gold while in the Speed-Kicking Black Belt Senior female under 46 kg category, Noamie Ingty also bagged gold.
Rishika Barua won silver in the Speed-Kicking Colour Belt Cadet female under 37 kg category. Ishita Barua also managed silver in Speed-Kicking Colour Belt Sub-Jr female under 32 kg while Shivansh Goenka, too, claimed silver in the Speed-Kicking Colour Belt Sub-Jr Male under 50 kg category.
Bronze medals were won by Mahima Pradhan (Speed-Kicking Colour Belt Senior female under 53 kg) and Shahrzad B Dkhar (Sub-Jr Male under 25 kg).
