NONGPOH, July 7: A remote locality adjacent to the Nongkhyllem Reserve Forest falling under Ri Bhoi achieved 100 per cent vaccination coverage on Wednesday during a camp which was organised by the Health department in the locality.
Setting an example, people from Iewsier, famous for the festival called ‘Niangtaser Festival’ or locally known as ‘Niang World Cup’ held once in four years during the FIFA World Cup, came forward to get vaccinated. Almost all residents in the locality are engaged in farming activities.
A total of 50 residents of the locality aged 18 years and above have been vaccinated.
