Contractor denies CBI’s charge

SHILLONG, July 15: One of the two persons against whom the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered preliminary enquiry, contractor BD Marbaniang, has clarified that the CBI has not contacted him in regards to the reported case.
Marbaniang maintained that he is unaware of any “gross misconduct” and violation of any tender condition from his side.
It may be mentioned that in a press communiqué issued by the CBI Shillong Branch, it was categorically stated that there was “gross misconduct on their part which resulted in wrongful loss to NEHU in the matter of award of contract for different construction works”.
