Guv to announce NCC inclusion as elective subject in colleges today

SHILLONG, July 21: Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik will announce the introduction of National Cadet Corps (NCC) as an elective subject in the UGC course of colleges affiliated to the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
It is worth mentioning here that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has allowed students to take up NCC as an elective subject in colleges.
The UGC had issued necessary guidelines to vice chancellors of all universities on April 15 last.
On the other hand, even the NCC Group HQ Shillong had moved NEHU for implementation of NCC as an elective subject in colleges affiliated to the University.
